Meteorites Change Rapidly While Descending

Scientists have discovered there are 7 stages, as a meteorite falls to Earth. First, a space rock creates a shock wave in front of it. Next, it brightens, then becomes a fireball. It stops losing mass from melting, then begins to break apart. It flares up again, before finally slowing down and cooling off.
