In fact, there are lots of companies, that will press your own custom record. Immortalize your talents on vinyl, and maybe someone will buy it someday in a record store.

Do You Love Licorice or Hate It?

Today is Licorice Day. Its distinctive flavor comes from the licorice plant, and can be used in candy or tea. It’s also Deskfast Day, when you eat your breakfast at your desk. Don’t get food on your work! Since it’s Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day as well, you could eat one for Deskfast!

Do you get Dear time at school? It stands for Drop Everything And Read, and today is DEAR Day. It’s celebrated on author Beverly Cleary’s birthday, whose characters helped the idea spread in schools. Start a daily DEAR time at home for your family, even if it’s just for 15 minutes.

Twice the Celebration for Baby Rhinos

An Ohio zoo welcomed a baby southern white rhinoceros on March 28th. Weeks earlier, another rhino calf was born! The female and male calves have not been introduced yet. White rhinos are endangered. The second-largest land mammal on Earth, they can weigh 140 pounds at birth, and their skin is 2 inches thick!

Mission to the Moon Completed Successfully

Yesterday, the Artemis 2 mission to the Moon completed its journey, as the 4 astronauts splashed down into the Pacific Ocean. The Integrity capsule was traveling at nearly 25,000 miles-per-hour as it re-entered Earth’s atmosphere. The 10-day mission looped around the Moon, observing huge craters and experiencing a solar eclipse.

Submersible Snacks

Today is Cheese Fondue Day. Get a pot of melted cheese, some hunks of bread or vegetables on sticks, and dive right in! It’s also Submarine Day, so pretend your snack-on-a-stick, is sneaking up on the enemy. The US Navy’s first sub was named Alligator. An earlier Revolutionary War submarine, was named Turtle.

Sing with Your Pet Quartet

Barbershop quartets, are groups that sing in 4-part harmony. Celebrate Barbershop Quartet Day, by singing with your pets, because it’s also Pet Day. Your dog can bark the base line, while kitty-cat meows the tenor. If you recorded your song on an 8-track tape, you’d be celebrating 19 60’s technology, for 8-Track Tape Day. Groovy!

You Can Be a Great Writer!

Today is Encourage A Young Writer Day, so I’m encouraging you, yes you, to write a story! Use your imagination, to make it as silly, scary, or realistic as you like. It’s also Farm Animals Day, so you could add a talking cow, or a chicken that wears a tutu. Anything is possible!
