When Emma Doden was a student at Utah State University, she decided to see how beavers, could improve the desert. They relocated beavers from urban areas, and let them get to work. The beavers built dams that helped restore rivers, trap sediment, and improve habitats for other creatures. Beavers are the original ecosystem engineers!

Some people are extroverts, who are outgoing and enjoy being around lots of people. Other people are introverts, who are quiet and need more alone time. Most people are a little of both. Today is World Introvert Day, so honor the introverts in your life, by giving them their space!

Happy Mew Year! Yes, you heard me right. It’s Happy Mew Year Day For Cats! I guess people weren’t paying enough attention to them yesterday. It’s also Science Fiction Day. On the birthday of one of the greatest science fiction writers, Isaac Asimov, read “I Robot”, and watch Dr Who or Star Trek.

Hasan Askari set a new world record in India, by just standing around. Of course, it was a little harder, because he was standing on one foot, and balancing a soccer ball on his knee. He kept the ball balanced in place, for 6 minutes and 16 seconds. Can you beat that record?

People in Texas weren’t imagining things, when they saw fish raining from the sky. Waterspouts, which look like a tornado of water, can form over lakes. They sometimes pull up fish or other small animals, like crabs or frogs, then drop them down like rain! I hope they had umbrellas.

If your name starts with a Z, you’re probably tired of being last, when lining up in alphabetical order. The first day of the year, is Z Day! You get to go first for a change! The rest of us can celebrate Z Day, by doing the last things first, and using Z words.

Today is Polar Bear Swim Day. Many people raise money for charity, by swimming in ice-cold waters! Burr! It’s also Commitment Day, a movement to lead healthy and active lives. Take a nice long walk with your family, or jog in place while you wait for your brother to get out of the bathroom.

Happy 20 22! Did you stay up until midnight, to welcome in the new year? I hope you slept in late, so you can start the year well-rested. Make a New Year’s resolution, by promising yourself you’re going to do something, or not do something. Can you keep your promise until next year? Good luck!

A fossilized dinosaur egg found in Ganzhou China, holds one of the most complete dinosaur embryos ever. The 66 to 72,000,000-year-old fossil, is a baby oviraptosaur, still tucked into its shell. Known as Baby Yingliang, the embryo is positioned just like a baby bird before hatching. It’s like a chicken in a 7-inch-long egg.
