Today is Greenpeace Day. The organization was started in 1971, when activists tried to stop nuclear testing off the shores of Alaska. Ever since, the group has been fighting to save the Arctic, whales, and the environment. They’ve raised awareness about the damage being done to the Earth, but it’s everyone’s job to protect it!

Healthcare heroes are stressed from taking care of patients, so cutting the grass, might be the last thing they feel like doing! The Green Care Program says, “Thank you.”

Divers from Finland, found an amazing relic while exploring the Baltic Sea. The team discovered a 400-year-old shipwreck. They were surprised to find an extremely well-preserved Dutch merchant vessel, called a fluit. The ship is a time capsule from the 17th century, with the holds still full of provisions. It’s an archaeological treasure.

Diamonds are expensive, because they’re hard to find. But some exoplanets in our galaxy, could be made of diamonds. The planets in our Solar System, were formed from materials from our sun. Other star systems that contain a lot more carbon, might have planets where diamonds are as common as ordinary rocks.

A Sneaky Snake Surprise

A 62-year-old snake at the Saint Louis Zoo, shocked everyone by laying eggs. It’s not only because she’s possibly the oldest known ball python, to have laid eggs. She also hasn’t had contact with a male python, in over 15 years! Some reptiles can reproduce without a mate. I guess she got sick of waiting!

Turning Air Into Water

If you lived in the desert, how would you get water? 15 houses in the Navajo Nation, are getting their running water, from the air. Hydropanels made by Zero Mass Water, use solar power to draw air through a fan, then push it through a hygroscopic. Water vapor is extracted, and condenses into liquid. Voila!
