You can also ask me to tell you a joke! You should laugh every day, because doctors say laughter’s good for your health.

Backyard Full of Birds

Today marks the first-ever Backyard Day. Celebrate it, by having a picnic or playing games in your yard. If you don’t have your own backyard, go to a park, which is a public backyard for everyone! Some people even keep chickens or ducks in their yard. Lucky for them, it’s also Poultry Day.

Cave of Ancient Treasures

Archaeologists are working in a remote cave, in Israel’s Judean Desert. They’ve uncovered some fantastic finds, including fragments from a biblical scroll, that are over 1800 years old. The cave also holds ancient coins, 6000-year-old mummified remains, and a 10,500-year-old woven basket. They’re using drones, to explore inaccessible parts of the cave.

There’s a Raccoon in the Dishwasher

A masked bandit broke into an Ohio home, and ransacked the kitchen. It must have been tiring work, because the burglar was caught taking a nap, in the dishwasher. A raccoon had caused the mess, probably while looking for some tasty snacks. Police safely removed the troublemaker, and released him with a warning.

I See Why He Quit!

Sometimes you have a job, with an awful boss. That’s part of why Andreas Flaten, gave his 2-weeks notice before quitting last November. He was still owed $915, which his employer delivered months later. He dumped 91,500 pennies, covered in oil, on Flaten’s driveway in the middle of the night. How obnoxious!

Petite Prickly Porcupettes

For the first time in 25 years, the Zoo Planckendael in Belgium, is home to 2 porcupettes. The baby crested porcupines were born to mom Stekeltje, and dad Loki. The Zoo asked the public, to help choose their names. Over 2000 people voted to call the babies, Wafa and Winga.

Your Parents Mean Well

Today is Forgive Mom And Dad Day. Did they make you eat a disgusting vegetable? Or scrub the dirt off your face? Forgive them for being so mean! Maybe they shared a mortifying photo of you. Don’t stay mad, because it’s also Awkward Moments Day! Everyone does embarrassing things sometimes. Just laugh it off!

Dog Needs More Driving Lessons

Last week, a Jeep crashed into an art museum in Wisconsin. The driver was inexperienced, and didn’t have her license, because she’s a dog. The owner had left his Australian shepherd in the car, while he went into a bakery. Callie put the car in drive, and it rolled away. Luckily, nobody got hurt.

Lights Out Please

Many birds migrate thousands of miles each year, to spend the winter in a milder climate. Light pollution in big cities, can make it hard for them to find their way. Many cities in North America, now participate in the Lights Out program. They dim the lights, to help migrating birds stay on track.
