Last week, a fireball streaked through the daytime sky in Maine, followed by sonic booms. NASA says it was the first radar-observed meteorite to fall in Maine. The Maine Mineral and Gem Museum is offering $25,000 for the first kilogram of meteorite fragments from the rare event. They’re worth their weight in gold!

A Better Source for Plastics

Chemical engineers are working on a way, to turn harmful carbon dioxide in the air, into a useful bioplastic. Bacteria eat the CO2, after it’s converted from gas into a formate. The bacteria then produce a polyester that can be extracted. It’s a less harmful way to make plastic, while also cleaning the air.

Juice Mission Launch Postponed

This morning, the European Space Agency, or ESA, delayed the launch of its mission to Jupiter, due to lightning risk. Juice, which stands for Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer, will give insight on how planets form, and what the Universe is made of. The launch is rescheduled for April 14th, at 8:14 Eastern Time.

How much would you pay, for used shoes? A pair of basketball legend Michael Jordan’s shoes, just sold for $2,200,000. He wore the black and red Air Jordans during the 1998 NBA Finals, in the season known as his Last Dance. Last year, Jordan’s Last Dance jersey, sold for even more. It was $10,000,000!

Donkey Kong Gets Super-Sized

Rochester New York’s Strong National Museum of Play, holds the World Video Game Hall of Fame. Soon, it will also be home to the world’s largest Donkey Kong arcade game. The game cabinet will stand 20 feet high, and be fully functional for guests to play. It should be ready by June 30th.
