Today is Plant Power Day, reminding you to eat plant-based foods. Fruits, vegetables, nuts and grains are packed with power, so try eating a vegan diet all day. Your body will be happy to get healthy food, and the Earth will be happy you’re eating something it grew itself!

Flapjack Cereal

How do you like to eat your fruits, nuts and grains? Since it’s Cereal Day and Flapjack Day, you can experiment! Have pancakes with walnuts and blueberries, oatmeal with pecans and peaches, and cornflakes with bananas and almond milk. It sounds like a delicious all-day breakfast is on today’s menu.

Did You Solve the Mystery?

An overdue book was returned to a library in Massachusetts, only 56 years late. The Alfred Hitchcock book, called “Mystery of the Green Ghost,” came back with a note apologizing profusely, saying they’d felt bad about it for years. The book’s due date said 19 67. Thankfully, the library doesn’t charge late fees.

That’s a Big Baby

Last month, a 270-pound baby was born in Texas. His mom’s name is Belle, and she’s an Asian elephant living at the Fort Worth Zoo. The zoo hasn’t announced his name yet, but he’s already walking. He’s a little uncoordinated with his trunk, but he’ll get the hang of it!

Don’t Sneeze On Me

Springtime brings allergies for many people, and you could be super-sneezy. Remember to sneeze into your elbow! Also, wash your hands with soap for 20 seconds, every time you blow your nose. Cheesecake and Oreos

Before you get dressed today, you should know it’s Dress Day. Dress up in a dress! It’s also White Chocolate Cheesecake Day, Frozen Food Day, and Oreo Cookie Day. Clarence Birdseye discovered, flash freezing food keeps it tasty! Thaw out some frozen cheesecake, microwave a frozen dinner, and eat your favorite flavor of Oreos!

Aber-Clam Lincoln is 214 Years Old

Blaine Parker was looking for clams on the Florida coast, but he never expected to find a gigantic quahog clam, with a 6-inch-long shell. He decided to take it to a marine lab, to find out more about it. Researchers said the massive clam was born in 18-oh-9, the same as Abe Lincoln.

Strike 3 You’re Out!

Lathan Williams, really knows the rules of baseball. At only 7 years old, he’s already been an umpire for 2 years. Known as Lathan the Kid Umpire, he’ll officially become the world’s youngest baseball umpire, at a special game in Louisiana, on March 8th. Don’t argue with the ump!

Going After Every Last Crumb

A police officer in Minnesota, found an unfortunate raccoon, who’d gotten his head stuck in a jar. After chasing the raccoon around in circles, he finally caught it and safely removed the jar. Animals often get stuck in human trash, which can be deadly. Always dispose of trash or recycling properly!

Birds of a Feather Flock Together

People tend to have friends, with similar interests or personalities. Researchers found that flamingos, do the same thing, when they make friends in their flock. Birds with bolder personalities formed one group, while the shy flamingos stuck to their own clique. I wonder if there’s a group that plays sports.
