Peek at the Polar Bear Cubs

The Toledo Zoo in Ohio, got a double-dose of cuteness. Their mama polar bear Crystal, and papa bear Nuka, are proud parents of twins! The new cubs are the zoo’s first polar bear twins in a decade. You can watch the babies snuggle with their mom, livestream on the Toledo Zoo’s YouTube channel.

Try Foods Again On a Different Plate

Are you a picky eater? Maybe your food would taste better, in a different bowl. Researchers found that some people who were very picky about the foods they ate, liked it better when served in a different colored bowl. Snacks in red or blue bowls seemed saltier, with red bowls seeming the least appealing.

A Gargantuan Galaxy

Astronomers have spotted the biggest galaxy ever, 3,000,000,000 light years away. The Alcyoneus galaxy has a supermassive black hole in the center, and is 16.3 million light years long. In comparison, our galaxy, the Milky Way, stretches only 52,850 light years. Alcyoneus is more than 300 times bigger!

When you adopt a mutt puppy, you never know how big they’ll grow; you get to be surprised! It’s also Fritters Day. Bits of dough stuffed with fruit, vegetables, or other fillings, are deep-fried and delicious!

December is here, and so is Christmas Lights Day. The first tree lights were invented in the 18 80’s, by Edward Johnson. Before that, people used to decorate their Christmas trees with candles, which doesn’t sound safe at all! Now we have LED lights that stay cool, and color-changing lights that you can program.

Keep Fighting Racism

Today is Rosa Parks Day, commemorating the date she became a hero in the civil rights movement. Rosa Parks was arrested in 1955, for refusing to give up her seat to a white man on a bus in Alabama. A statue in Montgomery Alabama, honors Rosa’s act of courage, and the fight for equality.
