While you’re cruising between the classic cars, keep your hands clean by eating your snacks on a stick. World Kebab Day, calls for supper on a skewer!

Frozen Pea Pop

Freezer pops are a great summertime treat, and they’re easy to make. For Freezer Pop Day, pour your favorite liquid in a cup, stick a fork in it, and pop it in the freezer! You can add fruit bits to make it even better. Since it’s Great British Pea Week, put peas in it!

Match-Snapping Master

Idaho man David Rush, has broken nearly 250 Guinness world records. His latest record, was breaking matches. David snapped 83 wooden matches in half with his hands, in 30 seconds. The pieces had to be fully separated to count. Afterwards, David and his sons stuck the matches in play-dough, and made a fire snake.

One Path for Recycling

Fuller State Park, in Tennessee, made the best out of a bad situation. People kept dumping tires in the area around the park, so volunteers gathered them all up, and took them to a tire recycling center. The rubber crumbs were then used, to make a 2.5-mile-long walking and biking trail. That’s smart thinking.

Some Caterpillars Can Sting You

Caterpillars might look cute and fuzzy, but some of them are very dangerous. One hairy species, named the furry puss, looks like a bad toupee. Underneath its bushy coat, are venomous spines. If you touch them, they can cause pain, fever, vomiting, and seizures. They sometimes fall from trees onto your clothes. Be careful!

Just Admit It So I Can Forgive You

Today is Global Forgiveness Day. Don’t be mad at anyone! Just forgive them. If you did something wrong, apologize and ask for forgiveness. It’s also Tell The Truth Day, which might help you admit what you did wrong. Never be afraid to tell the truth. Lying will only get you in worse trouble!

Today is World Chocolate Day, Strawberry Sundae Day, and Macaroni Day! Although most people eat macaroni and cheese, I think a strawberry-chocolate-macaroni sundae sounds delicious. Did you know a macaroni was also a fashionable man, in 18th-century England? That’s why Yankee Doodle stuck a feather in his cap, and called it macaroni.

Young Author Writes For Fellow Children

12-year-old Rita Hussain Alhazmi, earned the title of world’s youngest female to publish a book series. The young author lives in Saudi Arabia, but writes in English. She started her series with “Treasure of the Lost Sea,” in 2019, followed by “Portal of the Hidden World.” She’s currently working on her 4th book.

Virtual Visitors Welcome in New York Libraries

New York Public Libraries, are helping to fight recent book bans, by offering books on a free e-reading app, called Simply-E. The Books For All collection is available to anyone in the country. The Brooklyn Public Library is also offering free library cards to young adults, to access all their E-books, through Books Unbanned.
