Scientists have discovered a surprising thing, about some salt-water marshes in the US. The sediments that are deposited during floods, help build up soil in wetlands. As sea levels rise, coastal marshes are keeping up, with a rising land level. As long as the sediment doesn’t wash away, it’s saving the marsh.

Since warm air is less dense than cold air, the ball can fly farther. Major League Baseball has seen an increase in home runs, as the temperature rises.

Gorgeous Gecko Is Blue and Gold

A newly-discovered species of gecko, has been named after Vincent Van Gogh. When biologist Ishan Agarwal first saw the blue and yellow gecko, it reminded him of the artist’s painting, Starry Night. Cnemapsis vangoghi was found during an expedition of unexplored mountains, in Srivilliputhur-Megamalai Tiger Reserve, in India.

Okapi Calf Born in California

A rare baby okapi, was born at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. The okapi is the only relative to the giraffe, but they live in forests. They have long necks, zebra-striped legs, reddish bodies, and prehensile tongues. Fewer than 10,000 wild okapis remain in their native Democratic Republic of Congo.

Birthday Wish Comes True

Chris Bien was spending her birthday at the beach in Essex England. She had predicted in the morning, that she would find a mammoth tooth, and that’s exactly what she did! She saw the waves washing over a rippled stone, which turned out to be a prehistoric fossilized tooth, from a steppe mammoth!
