Most people have seen an Etch A Sketch, the toy where you can draw pictures using 2 knobs. Now, there’s an online version! Google Chrome created the Magic Web A Skeb, and it’s just as frustrating to try to draw a curved line. You can even shake the screen to erase it, and start over!

A giant circle of ice, is spinning in the Presumpscot River in Maine. The ice disc is 300 feet across, and rotates slowly in a counter-clockwise direction. When water melts from the ice, it sinks and causes a vertical vortex. The local ducks don’t care how it happens. They just enjoy sitting on a merry-go-round!

The Tanzanian island of Kokota was struggling. Its 500 residents had harvested so many trees and resources, that lack of shade caused the soil to turn to dust, and the rivers to dry up. Conservationists from the island of Pemba, helped Kokota plant 300,000 trees, and the island is beginning to thrive again. Trees are awesome!

When Troy Good moved into a new apartment recently, he discovered pets weren’t allowed. Since he was taking care of his daughter’s cats while she was away at college, that was a problem. He solved it by renting a 1500 dollar-a-month studio apartment for Tina and Louise! The California cats are reportedly good tenants.

Over the weekend in New York, London, Berlin, Buenos Aires, and other cities around the world, the subways were filled with some absent-minded folks, who seemed to have forgotten their trousers! They were just participating in the annual No Pants Subway Ride. The Improv Everywhere group organized the event as a “celebration of silliness!”

An accident in Flagstaff Arizona was tragic, but not because anyone got hurt. The traffic accident caused a tanker truck to spill 3,500 gallons of liquid chocolate all over I-40. It took 4 hours to clean up the sweet mess. 40,000 pounds of chocolate, just wasted. I think I’m going to cry!

Australia is in the middle of a scorching heat wave right now, with temperatures as high as 120 degrees Fahrenheit. It’s so hot that bats are falling out of the trees! Authorities are warning people not to touch the heat-stressed bats, but to call Fauna Rescue. Leave plenty of water out for the wildlife!
