They’ve been labeling all the plants growing along the walls and sidewalks, with their scientific names. Although it’s illegal to use chalk on public sidewalks, I don’t think anyone minds.

Horatio is a library cat. The Centre County Library in Pennsylvania, lets Horatio showcase a different book each week. Last week, firefighters and animal rescuers fished baby geese out of a storm drain, and pulled a puppy from a deep hole at a construction site. They removed a fox from between the walls of a house, untangled a deer from a soccer net, and lifted a dangling raccoon to safety. They’ve been busy!

Some people in Washington state, reported a loud boom last Wednesday. The American Meteor Society believes it came from an exploding meteor. Video shows a fireball streaking though the sky, with the boom occurring 3 minutes later. The meteoric event happened at a very high altitude, so the sound took that long to catch up!
