Green Village Has Everything

American architect James Ehrlich, is ready to construct his first ReGen Village in the Netherlands. The eco-village will be a 2-300 house neighborhood, that grows its own food, generates its own power, and recycles its own waste. Each house will also have a greenhouse, and rainwater catch-and-filter system. He hopes to create a 100% sustainable loop.

Try baking one from scratch, and make a bonus pie filled with your pet’s favorite food. Don’t get them mixed up! Tuna pie sounds gross.

A man in South Carolina made a tidy profit, from cleaning out his car. He vacuumed up about $5 in change, so he decided to buy a lottery ticket with it. His scratch-off ticket won $250,000! The next time he has to clean his car, he can just buy a new one!

Artistic Lizard Wants to Help

Sarah Curry and her Argentinian tegu lizard Winston, are making art for a good cause. The gigantic lizard is creating paintings, by dipping his claws and tail into paint, and crawling on canvases. Spend A Day in Someone’s Wheels

Last week, 14-year-old Alex Johnson offered Tennessee lawmakers a challenge. He has skeletal dysplasia, and needs to use a wheelchair. He asked members of the state legislature to spend one day in a wheelchair, to understand how important handicap accessibility is. They were surprised, at how difficult even opening a heavy door could be!

Today is International Tug-of-War Day. It’s an ancient game of strength that used to be an Olympic sport, where 2 teams pull on a rope in opposite directions. The Vikings used to play tug-of-war over a fire pit! Give the winner a box of Thin Mints, because it’s also Chocolate Mint Day! Yum!

Purse Returned After 63 Years

When Patti Rumfola was a student at Hoover High School in 19 57, she lost her purse behind the lockers. Chas Pyle recently discovered it, when he was fixing the trim on the lockers at the renamed North Canton Middle School. Her long-lost purse contained 26 cents, make-up, a comb, photos, and library and membership cards.

Pink Reef Manta Ray is One of a Kind

Everyone knows flamingos are pink. There are pink insects, like orchid mantises and katydids. There are even pink dolphins that live in the Amazon River. But only one pink manta ray has ever been spotted. He lives in Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, and locals have named him Inspector Clouseau, after the Pink Panther character.
