Star Wars fans might need to fly somewhere soon. United Airlines created a Star Wars plane! It will have a light saber on the tail, Star Wars music playing in the cabin, and a safety video featuring R2-D2 and C-3-P-O. You’ll even get a Star Wars travel kit! May the force be with you!

The Norman Public Library in Oklahoma, asked for volunteers to help move their children’s books, to their new building 1/4 mile away. Over 650 people showed up! They formed a human chain, and simply passed the books from one location to the other. A GoPro camera on one book, captured video of the happy volunteers!

Today is National Bison Day. The American bison is the USA’s national mammal, and the largest land mammal in North America. Although people also call them buffalo, the scientific name is Bison bison. Buffalo species, like the cape buffalo and water buffalo, are beardless, and don’t have the giant shoulder hump.

Have you ever heard of a numbat? It’s also known as a banded anteater, although it only eats termites. One numbat can eat up to 20,000 per day! The small marsupial is native to Western Australia, and is an endangered species. It’s World Numbat Day, so look up a photo of these cute little guys!

A new device called Allerguard, could be a life saver for people who have severe food allergies. It works by analyzing the chemical structure of the vapor molecules. All you have to do, is hold the device over your food! It may still be 18 months before it’s available to the public, so be patient.

Garbage trucks in Toronto Canada, will soon use bio-gas for fuel, made from the very waste they collect! Organic waste and food scraps are collected in green bins, then taken to a facility to be turned into fuel. Bio-gas can also be used to heat homes or produce electricity. Food waste isn’t totally wasted!

Do you like vinegar on your french fries, or in your salad dressing? You can also use it to make pickles, kill weeds, or clean the kitchen! Yay for Vinegar Day! It’s also Cinnamon Day. Sprinkle cinnamon on your hot chocolate or toast, bake it into cookies, or try the limited edition Cinnamon Coca-Cola!

It’s National Jersey Friday! Maybe we should say Nationals jersey, since they won the World Series! Wear your favorite team’s shirt. Today is also Fountain Pen Day. Vegans don’t eat meat or animal products. Have a dinner tonight with no meat, fish, eggs, or dairy ingredients!

In Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, a sinkhole opened in the middle of the street, swallowing the back half of a bus. Only 2 people were on the bus, and they were able to escape.
