The library at Arkansas State University had a few unauthorized visitors recently. There were raccoons checking out the books! They weren’t literally checking them out, since they don’t have library cards, but they did enjoy browsing the shelves! The dry, quiet atmosphere must have felt inviting, after the nearby woods flooded.

Knock knock. Who’s there? Boo. Boo who? Aw, don’t cry! It’s just Tell A Knock Knock Joke Day! It’s also Doorbell Day, so should we be telling Ding Dong jokes instead? And when you go trick-or-treating, should you ring the doorbell, yell “Trick-or-treat,” or say “Knock knock”. I’m so confused!

Today is a busy day! It’s Increase Your Psychic Powers Day. Try to read my mind! If your psychic powers fail you, try sleight of hand instead. It’s Magic Day! It’s also Carve A Pumpkin Day, and Caramel Apple Day. My favorite trick is to make a few caramel onions too, hee-hee-hee!

Today we celebrate Halloween. Many kids go trick-or-treating, where you go door-to-door to show off your costume, and get rewarded with candy. Or, you could hand out the candy, and eat all your favorites. Some people like to set up spooky decorations, or scare themselves at haunted houses. Whatever you do, have fun!

The Boodrams left the garage door open one day, because they were completing some projects on their Florida home. Imagine their surprise, when they found a bear rummaging through the freezer in the garage! He stocked up on lots of food, including sausages and Cool Whip. He must be getting ready for winter!

Josh Sundquist only has one leg, but he’s used it to his advantage, in making Halloween costumes. This year, his costume is the PIXAR lamp. He’s been the one-legged lamp from “A Christmas Story”, a flamingo, a fidget spinner, and an IHOP sign! Sometimes he dresses up as a Christmas tree, just for fun!

This Saturday, people on the East Coast of the United States may have a chance to see a rocket! The Antares rocket is scheduled to launch from NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia, at 9:59 A-M. The rocket will be carrying a Cygnus cargo spacecraft, to the International Space Station. Check it out!

Do you ever make a list of groceries you need at the store, or stuff you need to bring on a trip? The best part is checking or crossing off each item as it’s done. Today is Checklist Day. Make a list of things you’ve been meaning to do, then get to work!

Today is National Candy Corn Day. The yellow-white-and-orange candies were invented in the 1800’s. Did you know you can stack them up to look like an ear of corn? Try it! Then get ready for this evening. It’s Haunted Refrigerator Night! Time to clean out all the spooky leftovers hiding way in the back!

A long-lost painting, created in the 13th century by Cimabue, wasn’t lost at all. It had been hanging in the kitchen of a French woman for years. She decided to have the painting appraised, and was shocked to find it was one of only 11 surviving paintings by the artist. It sold at auction for $2,800,000!
