When Bruce Wiley’s clothes dryer stopped working, he took it apart to see if he could fix it. He was shocked to find a snake caught in the exhaust vent! With a little help, the snake pulled itself free and slithered out the exhaust vent, back into the Florida outdoors where it belonged.

The Ocean Cleanup is a group dedicated to removing plastic, from the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. The trash vortex is twice as big as Texas, floating in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The device the group uses to collect plastics, is finally working properly. Their goal is to capture 15,000 tons per year!

The Siesta Key Oyster Bar in Florida, is collecting money for Hurricane Dorian victims, by removing their wallpaper! The bar has a tradition where customers donate dollar bills, which get stapled to the walls and ceilings. The owners are carefully removing all the dollars, and have gathered around $15,000!

Today is Virus Appreciation Day. What? Viruses are pretty amazing, how they can spread so quickly between people, or computers. Show them you respect how dangerous they are, by washing your hands! To prevent computer viruses, keep your computer up to date, don’t open unexpected email attachments, and use anti-viruses and malware scanners.

Sometimes waiting for something can pay off. An Australian man was waiting for tractor parts, and started reading a newspaper. He realized he’d won the lottery! He won a jackpot worth over $402,000! He plans to use it for a birthday party for his wife, and a more comfortable retirement. That’ll be a great party!

An 11-foot-long python is on the loose in Morgantown West Virginia. The snake was a pet, but escaped Sunday night. 4 months earlier, a 15-foot-long python also escaped in Morgantown, and authorities believe its thriving in the wild. Maybe the 2 snakes will find each other and be best friends!

9-year-old Kade Lovell was running a 5k race in Minnesota. He missed his turn along the route, and ended up running the 10k race instead! Not only did he run a race that was twice as long, but he also won it! The other racers were all adults. Way to go Kade!

If you’ve ever raced on a go-kart track, you’ve probably wished you could race longer when you get waved in after your final lap. But a team of drivers at the Pole Position Raceway in Iowa, broke a world record. They drove a go-kart 546 miles in 24 hours! That might be a little too long.
