It’s Nutty Fudge Day, so make fudge in 3 minutes! Combine 3 cups of semisweet chocolate chips and 1 can of sweetened condensed milk in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 1 minute or more, until melted. Then stir in some walnuts, spread in a pan, and refrigerate. It’s that easy!

For Odometer Day, look at your car’s odometer. The numbers tell you how many miles the car has traveled. On older cars, you could watch the numbers turn as the car moved, but now most odometers are digital. How close is your family car, to a notable number like 33,333, 45,678, or 200,000? It’ll only happen once!

There once was a young boy from France, who ripped a big hole in his pants. He sewed up the hole, with help from a mole, and then they played tag with some ants. It’s Limerick Day! That’s the kind of poem I just made up. Can you write one too?

Have you ever tried to balance a playing card, on its side? A team of domino toppling experts took 51,275 cards, slightly bent into a curve so they would stand better, lined them up, then toppled them like dominoes. Even the slightest breeze would have spelled disaster, but they set a new world record.

Biologists in Indonesia, have observed an amazing animal behavior. A wild Sumatran orangutan with a wounded face, found a plant that had pain-relieving properties, and applied the sap to his injury. He also made a covering to protect it, like a bandage. The treatment was so effective, that the wound healed within a week.

Researchers in Spain have found, that something as simple as walnuts, can help boost brain growth in kids. Adolescents who ate a handful of walnuts a few times a week, could concentrate better. Walnuts are rich in a type of omega-3, called alpha-linoleic fatty acid, that promotes brain development as children grow.

Did you know that the ocean, produces over half of the world’s oxygen? Its currents help regulate Earth’s climate, and scientists estimate that 1,000,000 species live in the ocean. More people have been to the Moon, than to the bottom of the deepest part of the ocean. Happy Mother Ocean Day!
