A research center in Germany, discovered an interesting fact about Europeans. The happiest people, were the ones who saw many different birds every day. They found that bird diversity, had as much of an impact, as personal income. If employers can’t afford a raise for workers, installing birdfeeders could be the next-best thing.

After guessing the passcode, which was 1-2-3-4-5-6, she was able to contact the phone’s owner. He’d lost it 8 months earlier, white water rafting on a river 30 miles away!

New Roads Paved in Old Plastic

In a growing number of countries, plastic roads are becoming more popular. India has over 60,000 miles of roads, made from recycled plastic that would have otherwise ended up, in landfills and waterways. The roads are more durable than traditional roads. They withstand extreme temperature changes, and resist potholes, cracking, and water damage.

It All Looks Delicious

47,000,000 years ago, a fly was buzzing around, eating at a flower buffet. Scientists studied the stomach of a fossilized tangle-veined fly, which was full of different types of pollen. They determined that plants must have been packed closely together, because the insect would have been too stuffed, to fly very far!

Just Swinging Around

17-year-old Patrick Cooper, spent last weekend at the park, on the swing set. The New Zealand teen slept through his alarm, but it was good he got the extra sleep, because he was about to spend 36 hours swinging! He started his world record-setting feat at 10:23 Saturday morning, and finished at 10:23 Sunday night.

Did You Miss Me?

The black-browed babbler is a bird once found in Asia. The only specimen was in a natural history museum in the Netherlands, and it was believed to be extinct, until recently. A couple of birdwatchers in Indonesia, spotted the long-lost bird, for the first time in 170 years. Borneo’s black-browed babbler is back!
