A school in England, needs help finding a missing teddy bear. The bear, named Bradford, was attached to a weather balloon, that was sent into the stratosphere. Unfortunately, Bradford was jostled loose, and fell more than 16 miles to Earth, instead of returning by parachute as planned. That was quite an exciting trip!

Today is Tie One On Day. Pick your favorite apron, and tie it on to protect your clothes, while you cook a big feast. Aprons come in handy, as emergency oven mitts, towels, or an extra pocket. It’s also Jukebox Day. Some restaurants still have jukeboxes, so you can listen to your favorite songs!

Today is Cake Day! Will you make one from scratch, and practice all your measuring skills? You could use a boxed cake mix instead, and add some special ingredients, like chocolate chips or raspberries. You can even buy a cake, and focus on the best part of this special occasion, which is eating cake!

Today is Eat With A Friend Day. You probably eat with friends at school, but make a special effort for dinner. You could have a pancake or pizza party with some friends, where everyone picks out wacky toppings for their own plate. Or you could have a living room picnic, with sandwiches and snacks.

Today is Blasé Day. The French word for jaded, being blasé about something means you’re unimpressed. An impressive parfait will fix that attitude, especially since it’s Parfait Day! That’s also a French word, meaning perfect. The dessert has layers of cream, fruit, nuts, yogurt, or anything else you desire, to make it perfectly delicious!

Many birds migrate south for the winter. Late November is a good time to see lots of waterfowl like ducks and geese, flying overhead. The distinctive V formation helps them conserve energy for their long trip. Check the Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s BirdCast to see who is migrating near you.

For tens of thousands of years, humans have been leaving their mark, with drawings and handprints. But when did they first start writing? Researchers believe an ancient form of communicating using pictures, called proto-cuneiform, has been linked to Mesopotamian cylinder seals. That means the earliest form of writing, could be 6,000 years old.

Today is Sardines Day. Sardines, sometimes known as pilchards, are tiny fish that travel in large schools. It’s also the name of a type of hide-and-seek. One person hides, and as other players find them, they pack into the same hiding place, like sardines in a can. The last seeker gets to hide next.

No matter what your talent is, whether it’s playing an instrument or sport or video game, having loud burps or smelly farts, or making really tall piles of whipped cream from a can, be proud of your abilities!
