The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, in China, welcomed 15 panda cubs last year. 13 of them made their first appearance in public, to wish everyone a happy and fun New Year. They frolicked on their colorful playground, in between bottle-feedings with their keepers. They’re so cute and roly-poly!

Firefighters pulled a dog out of a pit in Virginia, a python out of a truck’s engine compartment in Florida, and a deer off an icy lake in Missouri. Thanks, humans!

Don’t forget, if you had a real Christmas tree this year, don’t put it in the trash. Many farms have goats, that think trees are tasty treats. Some communities will pick up trees and turn them into mulch. You could practice your chopping skills, and make firewood. Find a way to recycle your tree!
