Today is Firewalk Day. Firewalking has been used in ceremonies and rituals for over 3000 years. Instead of walking barefoot over a bed of hot embers, celebrate Walk Around Things Day, by walking around it. You can also walk around the food you dropped, your toys on the steps, and that dirty sock.

Today is Vitamin C Day. Vitamin C is found in lots of fruits and vegetables, like oranges and spinach. It’s also Carrot Day, a good source of beta-carotene, which your body converts to Vitamin A! Eat your food outside, so your body can make Vitamin D from sunshine. Vitamins are the ABC’s of Health!

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, is ready to name their 4-month-old polar bear cub, but they need your help. He was born on Thanksgiving to mom Aurora, and Dad Lee. The cub will be named either Minik, Kulu, or Corky. You can vote for your favorite name at the columbuszoo.org website.

Dyson is well-known for making vacuum cleaners, but their engineers are always inventing new technology. To inspire kids, Dyson made Challenge Cards. NASA has launched new activities on its website, to entertain kids. It’s called NASA At Home. There are virtual tours of the International Space Station, videos, opportunities to be a citizen scientist, e-books, crafts, and more. Go to nasa.gov, and explore the NASA At Home universe. It’s out of this world!

People who are lucky enough to be able to work from home, can easily celebrate Walk To Work Day. If it’s too far to walk to work, take a walk at work instead. It’s also Chocolate Mousse Day. One easy recipe of the light, chocolatey dessert, uses only heavy cream and chocolate. Try it!

Today is Find A Rainbow Day. Rainbows in the sky are caused by reflection, refraction, and dispersion of light in water droplets. You can create your own rainbow on a sunny day by making a fine spray of water with a hose. Have a party when you find one; it’s also World Party Day!

The town of Cwmbran, in Wales, discovered it held a world record, after resident Brian Dougal did a little research. He analyzed the local roads, and found his hometown had 2.75 roundabouts per square kilometer. They ran rings around Milton Keynes England’s record, of only 1.46 roundabouts per square kilometer. Going around in circles paid off!

A tragic accident took place in Texas yesterday. A truck full of toilet paper caught on fire. The tractor-trailer’s driver escaped safely, and so did his dog. But the large rolls of toilet paper burned extensively, and could not be rescued. Traffic also got a little backed up, haha.

Sam Hustler had been training for his first-ever half-marathon in London, but it was cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak. He decided to run it anyway, on his balcony! He had to run 5000 laps in order to complete the 13-mile distance. The scenery was boring, but at least he came in first place!
