The Pinewood Derby, where Scouts design their own miniature wooden racing cars, has been taking place since 19 53. Scouts pledge to do their best.

A school in West Virginia, has a vending machine with refreshing treats. It’s full of books! The Book Drop holds about 100 books, to satisfy kids’ hunger for a good story. Students can earn tokens to buy books. There are around 350 book vending machines across the United States. Maybe your school will get one next!

Finally Back on Earth

Astronaut Christina Koch returned to Earth yesterday, after spending nearly 11 months in orbit. Her 328-day mission, was her first spaceflight, and the longest ever by a woman. She and 2 crewmates from the International Space Station landed in Kazakhstan, in the Russian Soyuz capsule. The highlight of Koch’s mission, was the first all-female spacewalk.

Football player Derrick Nnadi, a Kansas City Chief, celebrated his Super Bowl win by paying the adoption fees, for all the animals at the KC Pet Project in Kansas City  Missouri. Now, the Coors Light company is offering to pay for 1000 dog adoptions in the USA. Valentine’s Day will be full of puppy love!
