Today you get an excuse to be a little crazy; it’s Walk On Your Wild Side Day! Here’s something wild to try: a grilled cheese and licorice sandwich! Yuck. Maybe just have them separately, because it’s Grilled Cheese Day and Licorice Day! Sounds like the perfect dinner to me.

Happy Easter! Today Christians celebrate the resurrection, when Jesus Christ rose from the dead almost 2000 years ago. New life and Spring are represented by Easter bunnies, and colored eggs! Passover is celebrated this week by Jews, a festival commemorating when the Israelites were freed from slavery more than 3000 years ago.

Toilet paper saved the day, at the Ronttosrouva bakery in Finland. Sanna Lampinen was afraid she’d have to close for good, when all her cake orders were cancelled during quarantine. But when people saw her cake decorated like a roll of toilet paper, the orders started rolling in! TP cake is good clean fun.

What’s that in the river? Oh, just 3 guys floating on a chunk of ice. A bystander in Russia filmed the trio standing on the icy raft, and called out to them. They appeared to be calm and enjoying their ride, as they waved back and swiftly flowed away. I guess they were having fun!

One benefit of staying home during the COVID-19 pandemic, is that there are fewer cars on the road. As a result, some countries have seen a huge drop in air pollution. The cleaner air in Punjab India, allowed people to see the tops of the Himalayan mountains, for the first time in 30 years!

An art-loving couple missed going to galleries, so they created their own. Madrianni Benetti and Filippo Lorenzin’s exhibit fits on a table, because it’s a mini-gallery for their gerbils! They copied famous paintings, like the Scream and Mona Lisa, but with rodent faces. The art gallery even has benches and “Do Not Chew” signs.

Today I just feel like relaxing with all my pets, on a submarine, while eating cheese fondue, and listening to barbershop quartets, on 8-track tapes. It’s a good thing it’s National Submarine, Cheese Fondue, Barbershop Quartet, Eight Track Tape, and Pet Day! Sing a song with your pets in four-part harmony!

A company in Budapest Hungary, has a great use for plastic bottles. Platio Solar is recycling plastic to make driveways, out of solar panels. Each solar paver is made from 400 bottles. They are stronger than concrete, and can generate enough electricity, to power a house or electric car. That’s a powerful invention!

Not everyone is unhappy, about worldwide lockdowns. Endangered sea turtles are taking advantage of closed beaches, to lay eggs. 70,000 Olive Ridley sea turtles came ashore at Odisha Rookery, a beach in India, where they can lay around 100 eggs per nest. Volunteers will guard the beach until the babies hatch, and head out to sea.

Radio telescopes need to have a curved dish shape, to capture and reflect waves. That’s why NASA believes a crater on the dark side of the Moon, could make a perfect massive telescope. The powerful Lunar Crater Radio Telescope, would be nearly 3300 feet across, and end up looking a bit like the Death Star.
